Sure, we can all claim to be “children of the Beatles.” After all, nearly everybody grew up listening to the Beatles’ songs, and at least some of us consider ourselves to be inspired by them. But how many of us would claim to be their biological children? Neither of us. There are, however, 16 people who may claim to be the direct descendants of The Beatles.

The Children of the Beatles – Where Are They Now

The majority of their offspring are biological, but a handful was adopted or are stepchildren. So not only do you see the unmistakable resemblance between the sons and daughters and their fathers in the list below, but you can also see that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Many of these Beatles descendants – some even children, some adults – are accomplished musicians in their own right.

John Charles Julian Lennon

Parents: John Lennon and Cynthia Lennon

Born: April 8, 1963

Julian was the first to be conceived, arriving on the scene only as the Beatles gained popularity. He was the inspiration for three big Beatles songs as a child: John’s “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and “Good Night,” and Paul’s “Hey Jude,” composed to comfort Julian after his parents’ divorce. The father and son were divorced for a while after John abandoned Cynthia for Yoko. Then, in the early 1970s, they reconnected. Julian’s artistic interests had piqued John’s attention, and he bought him a guitar and taught him the ropes. Julian eventually continued in his father’s footsteps. He went on to make a living as a singer, songwriter, actress, and filmmaker.

Julian’s debut song, “Valotte,” was a smash hit in 1984, earning him two top ten singles and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. His subsequent albums, though, were not as well received. Julian took a break from the recording industry in 1991. He released a variation of “When I’m Sixty-Four” almost a decade later, in 2002. In 2009, he founded the White Feather Foundation, an environmental or charitable organization named after what his father once told him. Julian then opened a show of 35 photos, including his selection of Beatles memorabilia, to commemorate his father’s birth on the 70th anniversary of his birth in 2010. Julian Lennon’s photography is titled “Timeless: The Photography of Julian Lennon.”

Zak Starkey

Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox

Born: September 13, 1965

After marrying earlier that year, Ringo Starr and Maureen Starkey welcomed their first child, Zak. Despite his father’s best efforts to prevent his son from entering the increasingly stressful music business, Zak couldn’t help but be fascinated by his father’s drums. After all, when he was eight years old, his godfather Keith Moon (of The Who) gave him a drum kit. It’s no joke that the kid was into drums and rock ‘n’ roll with a father and godfather-like those two. Since his parents separated in 1975, he became passionate about it. First, he was a member of the Icicle Works and then his father’s All-Starr Party.

During the mid-90s, Zak received his major break by filling his godfather’s former spot. Fans of the Who and the band members, though he was an excellent match for the group. It’s also not straightforward to choose someone to play such a well-known rock star. So Zak started to work with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey on recordings and tours. Between 2004 and 2009, he was the third drummer for Oasis. He also took care of the sticks for Johnny Marr and the Healers. Zak married Sarah Menikides in 1985, and their daughter Tatia was the first Beatle grandchild (who is now also a musician).

Jason Starkey

Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox

Born: August 19, 1967

Ringo and Maureen welcomed their second baby, Jason, two years after their union. Jason was still the family’s secret rebel while he was younger. His parents split when he was seven years old. Maureen was awarded custody of each of her sons, while Ringo was granted visitation privileges. Jason, like many other divorced children, started acting out. He began to get himself into a lot of trouble and run into legal issues. He was charged £125 in 1987, when he was 20 years old, for attempting to rob a car stereo. A couple of years back, he was accused of cocaine use.

Jason eventually placed his past in delinquency behind him and formed several indie bands. Jason, like his older brother and dad, is a drummer. He played drums for Buddy Curtis and the Grasshoppers, The People’s Friend, Empire Of Sponge, and even Musty Jack Sponge and the Exploding Nudists with his brother Zak the mid-’80s. On the other hand, Jason doesn’t appear to care about his family’s background for any reason. “Being Ringo Starr’s son is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. He once said, “It’s a complete agony.” Despite this, Jason became interested in the music business and acted as a road manager and drummer. He’s been married to Flora Evans, a fashion designer, since 2010, and they have three sons together.

Mary Anna McCartney

Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney

Born: August 28, 1969

When Paul and Linda married in 1969, they were both expecting Mary. You can recall her as the little girl on the back cover of Paul’s first solo record, ‘McCartney,’ who famously peered out of his uniform (which included the photo taken by her mother). Mary is Paul and Linda’s maternal oldest child. Mary, like her mum, was interested in photography. She went on to work as a talented photographer and reporter. She specializes in fashion and portrait photography. She created the TV documentary ‘Wingspan,’ about her parents’ band, in 2001. She also acted as her father’s interviewer in the film.

She is involved with many voluntary organizations. She married Alistair Donald, a director, and television executive, in 1998. Arthur Donald, the oldest of her father’s eight grandchildren, was born to her in 1999, making her the first grandchild of her father. Elliot Donald, Mary’s second sibling, was born in 2002. The pair separated in 2005. She married agent Simon Aboud in 2010. She and Aboud are the parents of two sons.

Lee Parkin Starkey

Parents: Ringo Starr and Maureen Cox

Born: November 11, 1970

Lee came at an inconvenient moment. Shortly after the Beatles split in 1970, her parent’s marriage was in serious trouble. However, Ringo and Maureen will have to wait for five years before filing for divorce. Lee gained notoriety in 1989 after she appeared alongside her father in an Oldsmobile advert. Around the same period, Lee co-founded Planet Alice, a Los Angeles boutique specializing in trendy 1960s designs. However, it finally closed, and Lee served as a fashion designer and makeup artist.

Unfortunately, Lee was diagnosed with a brain tumor a year after her mother died of leukemia at 48 in 1994. She had to go through surgery and radiation treatment. Unfortunately, the tumor reappeared in 2001, and she had to undergo treatment once again. Thankfully, Lee’s wellbeing has improved since then. She will often attend her brothers’ concerts and Stella McCartney’s (who we’ll discuss next). Lee has been dating Kasabian/Beady Eye bassist Jay Mehler for quite some time now. Lee gave birth to triplets in 2009, a first for the Beatles family. She and her relatives reside in London, which is unsurprising.

Stella Nina McCartney

Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney

Born: September 13, 1971

Stella toured the globe as a child with her parents and their music party, Wings (and her siblings). Stella’s tough delivery, according to Paul, influenced the group’s name. Paul waited outside the operation center, praying for her to be placed “on the wings of an angel.” Instead, she was born via emergency C-section. That may have been a blessing in disguise since Stella is the most well-known of Paul and Linda’s daughters. She has established herself as a prominent figure in the fashion industry. Her passion for fashion and making clothes began at a young age.

Stella secured a slew of athletes in addition to a slew of celebrity customers (including her personal friend and model Kate Moss). She developed the sportswear for all British Olympians participating in the 2012 Games. In recognition of her services to design, she was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire the following year. Stella isn’t scared to stir it up. As she attended her father’s induction ceremony at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she carried a top that read “It’s About F–king Time.” She is married to Alasdhair Willis, a publisher, and they have four children together.

Sean Taro Ono Lennon

Parents: John Lennon and Yoko Ono

Born: October 9, 1975

Sean, who was born on his father’s 35th birthday, is the only child John and Yoko had together. John took a break from music after the birth of his second son to focus on his family. Sean was an influence on John, and he wrote the song “Beautiful Kid” as a result. The music was used on John’s 1980 comeback record, “Double Fantasy,” recorded only before his death. Sean is the first Beatle kid born in the United States. Sean, like his creative parents, went on to become a singer. Sean worked with his mother on her solo albums It’s Alright, Starpeace, and Onobox from childhood to adolescence, doing vocals and production.

Besides his mother, Sean has released a few solo records, recorded a few movie soundtracks, and worked with many musicians. He collaborated with the Flaming Lips, Albert Hammond Jr. of the Strokes, and Mark Ronson, to name a couple. He and his model girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, eventually founded their band. Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, an avant-garde folk band, recorded their first full-length album, ‘Midnight Sun,’ in 2014. In 1984, Steve Jobs paid a visit to Manhattan and attended a party thrown by Yoko Ono in honor of her late husband. Jobs presented Sean with one of the first Macintosh computers there.

James Louis McCartney

Parents: Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney

Born: September 12, 1977

James McCartney was named after his father, James Paul McCartney. James is Paul and Linda’s only child, and he has always been interested in music. It’s not also due to his father’s presence. What’s the actual reason? He saw Marty McFly playing the guitar in the famous ‘Back to the Future scene. Paul recognized his son’s interest in the guitar right away and jumped in to provide him with a Stratocaster. Carl Perkins formerly owned the instrument. James wound up playing guitar and percussion on a couple of his father’s solo albums (such as “Flaming Pie” and “Driving Rain”).

After a few years, James decided to pursue his musical career. After a pair of pop-rock EPs co-produced by Paul, James launched his debut album, titled “Me,” in 2013. However, James had managed to create a bit of a media frenzy a year before. He upset the apple cart in 2012 when he announced that he, Sean Lennon, Zak Starkey, and Dhani Harrison (next on the list) would form a second-generation Beatles band. What’s going on here? Although James claimed that a reincarnation of their Beatles fathers was not out of the question, not all of the sons accepted. James said, “I don’t believe it’s something Zak needs to do.” “Perhaps Jason will be interested in doing it. I’d be willing to participate. Sean seemed to like it, and Dhani seemed to enjoy it as well. I’d be delighted to help.”

Dhani Harrison

Parents: George Harrison and Olivia Harrison

Born: August 1, 1978

Dhani is the only child of George and Olivia, who married a month after Dhani was born. George decided to call his son after the 6th and 7th notes on the Indian music scale due to his activities and pursuit of Indian philosophy. Who knows, maybe he was meant to be a guitarist all along. After George Lynne died in 2001, Dhani assisted Jeff Lynne in finishing his father’s song, ‘Brainwashed,’ and thus became a talented musician. Dhani performed acoustic guitar for the “Concert for George” tribute the following year. He was a part of a lineup that included Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. After that, Dhani set off on his own a couple of years back.

Dhani is also a member of Fistful of Mercy, a punk trio that includes Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. His musical partnerships are currently very varied. He’s toured with Eric Clapton, guested on Wu-Tang Clan’s “The Heart Gently Weeps,” and performed on stage with Pearl Jam on many occasions. Dhani married Solveig “Sola” Karadottir in 2012, but the couple divorced after just a few years. They never had children as a couple. Dhani participated in the Beatles video game in addition to his artistic activities. He was a key figure in creating the video game “The Beatles: Rock Band.” He gathered the band’s remaining members as well as the game makers.

Beatrice was born in 2003 to Paul and Heather Mills, Paul’s second child. Heather’s mum, Beatrice, and Paul’s aunt Milly is said to be the inspiration for Beatrice Milly. McCartney’s youngest sibling, Beatrice, is his only child with Heather, whom he married while he was in his 60s. Despite their acrimonious breakup, Paul and Heather agreed to split custody of their beloved Beatrice. She was a flower girl at her father’s wedding to Nancy Shevell in 2011. Beatrice is rumored to be a talented saxophonist, but she has no plans to pursue a career in music. Instead, sea biology seems to be a better fit for her.

Parents: Linda McCartney and Joseph Melville See (adopted by Paul McCartney)

Born: December 31, 1962

Heather McCartney is the daughter of Linda McCartney and Joseph Melville See. But, because her parents divorced when she was a child, and her mother married Paul McCartney when she was six years old in 1969, Paul adopted her formally. The fact that her maternal father had a lasting impact on her always considers Paul to be her father. Heather has always had a passion for art. She attended an art college and majored in pottery and architecture. She traveled to Arizona later in life to reside with her biological father but finally returned to England to work as a potter.

Kyoko Chan Cox

Parents: Yoko Ono and Anthony Cox (adopted by John Lennon)

Born: August 8, 1963

When John and Yoko married in 1969, he became the stepfather of Yoko’s daughter from her previous marriage to American filmmaker and art promoter Anthony Cox. Yoko Ono and her ex-husband were engaged in a custody dispute over their daughter during the early years of their marriage. John wrote the song “Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Just Looking for Her Hand in the Snow)” due to his ordeal. The Plastic Ono Band, which included John, Ringo, and Eric Clapton, was credited with the song. Cox abducted Kyoko when she was eight years old and raised her as Ruth Holman. However, he was a member of The Living Word Fellowship, a religious cult. Kyoko and her father fled the cult in the 1970s, but she didn’t see her mother again until the 1990s. Kyoko’s background is unknown, but she is reported to be a teacher who is married with two children.

Francesca Gregorini

Parents: Barbara Bach and Augusto Gregorini (step-daughter of Ringo Starr)

Born: August 7, 1968

Countess Francesca McKnight Donatella Romana Gregorini di Savignano di Romagna is her given name, but she is formally Countess Francesca McKnight Donatella Romana Gregorini di Savignano di Romagna. That’s right, repeat that three times in a row. Francesca is the stepdaughter of Ringo Starr and is the daughter of Barbara Bach and Count Augusto Gregorini. She is a writer and agent of Italian ancestry. Francesca Bach, Bach’s oldest sister, grew up in Rome and America before moving to England when her mother married Ringo. She dabbled with music before making a name for herself as a filmmaker. In 2013, she released an independent film named “The Truth About Emanuel.” Gregorini was also well-known for her marriage to Portia de Rossi (pre-Ellen).

Born: April 6, 1972

From his marriage to Barbara Bach, Ringo has another step-child, Francesca’s brother. Francesca’s younger brother, Gianni, was born four years later. Gianni was a pageboy at his mother’s wedding to Ringo while he was a small child. He began working for his father in Italy as he grew older, but he later relocated to Los Angeles, where he established himself as a businessman. Unfortunately, on the internet, there isn’t much information about Gianni. But, as much as I’d like to share at least a tidbit of juicy stuff, I’m afraid I can’t. But I would admit that he and his sister (as well as the rest of these kids) were born into a relatively good condition!

Arlen Blakeman

Parents: Nancy Shevell and Bruce Blakeman (step-son of Paul McCartney)

Born: December 3, 1991

When Paul married Nancy, his third partner, in 2011, he welcomed yet another child into his family. After all, why not at this point? As a result, Paul became a stepfather to Nancy’s son, Arlen Blakeman, from her marriage to lawyer Bruce Blakeman. So when Arlen gives his mother away to Paul at their wedding service, he was a youth. Arlen earned his bachelor’s degree in 2015. He’s currently doing a legal internship in New York City. Like some of the other Beatles kids on this chart, Arlen seems to have shied away from the spotlight. So it’s just for the better.
