Alicia’s been in the business for so long that she had gotten used to it by this point. She was able to tell a man’s intention when he pawned items just by looking at his face. The pawnshop attracted strange mixes of people who were from different places in the town. For Alicia, she came up with two categories for people who pawned in her shop. The first was the people who were down-and-out, while the second was people who were like vultures looking for a chance to get a great deal. However, it was different with the officer she’d met on that day. He had done something Alicia never expected.

Alicia knew full well how to handle her regular customers. With the amount of experience she had, she found that some customers would bargain for certain antiques while others would willingly pay the full amount with no questions asked. She worked in a rather small town. For this reason, she was able to remember almost all her customers. Still, there was a new man who came into the pawnshop. She watched him carefully, examining his every move.
