Life is Good
I kept working out at Curves and power walking after the half-marathon, and I was still losing half a pound to a pound per week. The scale reached 140 pounds in the summer of 2005 and remained there. Even though it had been two years since I began, I had gradually reached my goal weight. I felt good for the first time in a year and a half, even though I knew I looked amazing. I felt like I was myself again, both inside and out. I was full of energy and had a fresh enthusiasm for life. I used to enjoy going into stores and putting on tight jeans and tank tops.

Living to the Fullest!
I’ve lost weight and kept it off for the past three years. I still go to the gym four times a week and power walk, but I try not to overindulge too much. I’ll add a few more minutes to my workout if I go out with the girls and eat a platter of chicken wings or if I see that my jeans are going a bit tight. In addition, I have backpacked around Southeast Asia and Europe. If I weighed 179 pounds, I never would have had the stamina to make those trips! I’m not afraid to go back out on the dating scene, but I’m content to carry on with my life without a partner or without one. I thought I would never be able to return to normalcy five years ago. I adore my life right now, and I’m excited to see what lies ahead for me.
