Trust us, Paige Spiranac is going to pique your interest in this sport. This is one golf player who can change the game in more ways than one. Get ready because these photos of the lovely lady is going to render you speechless!
Paige Spiranac was only a young girl when she decided to give golf a chance. With this in mind, it made perfect sense that she went on to play for the golf team at the San Diego State University.
During her time at the university, she was able to bring home honors from the All-Mountain West Conference from 2012 up to 2014. She also helped the San Diego State University Aztecs get its first Mountain West Conference title in the sport.
Paige Spiranac caught the attention of the internet when she posted trick shot videos on Instagram. Her following has gotten bigger since she started doing this. You can say that she is a social media star too!
You are not going to regret hitting the ‘Follow’ button when you visit her page on Instagram. Not only are you going to see more of this blonde bombshell, but you will also learn good golf tips.
Right now, she has plenty of followers on her Instagram account. Do you know how many folks out there have subscribed to her page? If your guess was 2 million, you hit it right on the mark.
Paige Spiranac was born on March 26, 1993. This golf player was born to parents of Croatian descent. Even though she was born in Wheat Ridge, she grew up in Monument. It is another town in Colorado.
While living in Monument, Paige Spiranac underwent training to be a gymnast. Back then, she wanted nothing more than to participate in the Olympics. It is neat to hear that she got to skip level 6 and was invited to the Karolyi Ranch.
At the age of 12, her Olympic dreams had been shattered. Her kneecaps had been broken twice, so this made things much harder for her. We doubt that it was easy for her to give up on gymnastics.
However, her kneecaps were not the only thing that made her quit the sport. She had been bullied by other girls when she was training to be a gymnast! We know that it is sad, but that was what happened.
These were the things that led Paige to golf. She was 12 years old at the time. Luckily for her, golf had a more quiet and isolated nature compared with gymnastics. In the end, everything worked out. Whew!
Back then, there were two places that she had to be shuttled to. She would be either in Scottsdale, Arizona or Monument, Colorado. Apart from that, she had to go to home school in order to get the time she needed to train.
When she joined the Colorado junior golf circuit, she was able to bag 5 tournaments in 7 tries. In 2010, she joined the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association Junior Stroke Playback. Her early days were great!
We already told you that she went to the San Diego State University, but she also attended a different place before that. Thanks to her junior resume, the University of Arizona offered her a scholarship!
During her freshman year, she only got to play in 3 events during the 2011-2012 season. That year, she reached the best score of 73. She actually reached this score twice at the Windy City Intercollegiate.
Change Of Environment
Paige decided that she was going to San Diego State University after that. She was craving a change of environment. We are glad to hear that she made the right choice for her sophomore year of college!
Paige Spiranac saw more success in the 2012-2013 season. She bagged sixth-place honors at the Mountain West Championship, fifth-place honors at the Cal Classic, and First Team All-Mountain West honors. On top of that, she also finished nineteenth during the NCAA Central Regional Championships.
But how well did Paige Spiranac do in her junior year of college? It was actually a great year for her once more. During the 2013-2014 season, she even brought home Second-Team All-Mountain West Honors.
A Bright Future
Apart from this, Paige Spiranac also made it to the top ten of the Mountain West Championship. She was still new to the scene back then, so this was impressive! She kicked off her career on a good note.
With A Bang
We are sure that she was very happy to top off her college career with an incredible feat. During her final season, the San Diego State University Aztecs managed to bring home its first Mountain West Conference title!
This was a great achievement that anyone should be proud of. Let us see what she had to say about it. According to the golfer, it was “one of the absolute happiest moments of my life.” Good job, Paige!
CWGA Match Play Championship
In July 2015, the 100th Colorado Women’s Golf Association Match Play Championship was hosted by the Colorado Golf Association. The event happened at Raccoon Creek Gold Course. We wonder how well Paige did during the course of the competition.
Paige Spiranac was up against Brittany Fan of the University of Colorado Boulder in a 35-hole title match. She was able to finish with 9 holes under par and secured her victory that way. How cool is that?
Out of nowhere, Paige Spiranac received tons of attention in 2015. Apparently, the sudden influx of followers had something to do with an article published by Total Frat Move. It encouraged people to look her up. In just two days, her follower count went from 10,000 to 100,000. Whoa!
In 2016, Paige Spiranac finally became a pro golfer. She joined the CoBank Colorado Women’s Open and finished ninth at one-under-par. This is already an incredible honor by itself, but we are sure that things were made even sweeter by the cash prize of $1,750.
Right now, Paige Spiranac only has one win to her name. The first and only win took place at Scottsdale’s Orange Tree Country Club. We have no doubt that this is not going to be the case for much longer! Keep an eye out because she was made to do great things.
The Man In Her Life
When Paige Spiranac and Steven Tinoco first met, he recognized her and asked her for a photo. The day after that, he sent her a message and Instagram to ask her out! He is a minor-league baseball player who also works as a personal trainer. They now live together in their home in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Put A Ring On It
It only took Paige one date to know that he was the man that she had been looking for! She liked that he would hold the door for her and give her flowers. He was a gentleman, no doubt about it. After dating for a couple of weeks, he eventually proposed to her while they were in Dubai.
A Swing At Tennis
When she did not succeed in gymnastics as originally planned, Paige tried tennis. She had an aunt who was a professional player and coached her in a professional capacity. However, the sport did not hold her interest well enough.
Ronda Rousey Is Her Idol
It is pretty interesting to hear who Paige considers her idol! The answer is not a golf player but a mixed martial artist! We are talking about Ronda Rousey. Paige said that she considers the fighter a “superwoman.” The golfer remains hopeful that she can follow in her footsteps.
In Dubai, there was a rather unfortunate incident when Paige was competing at a golf tournament. She looked at her phone in the middle of swings. The judges took note of this and took off points for it. This was the reason she did not qualify for the round after that. Ouch.
Aside from Instagram, Paige is also an active Twitter user. Check out this funny tweet that she posted: Idk if you heard but I have a podcast. A golf podcast from a girl who’s known for only showing cleavage on the gram…it’s an uphill battle. So yeah please listen. I’d very much appreciate that!”
We love the fact that Paige is in love with dogs! If you go through her Instagram profile, you are going to find many photos like this one. The caption for this post said, “Puppy Love.” Adorable!
She Received Death Threats
A couple of years ago, she got phone calls and messages from strangers. These anonymous people bashed her for the outfits that she wore. They even instructed her to end her life for her “tight, cleavage-baring outfits.” The golfer explained, “I was harassed, my family embarrassed.”
Who would have ever thought that Paige Spiranac is afraid of the camera? This was actually the reason she started a YouTube channel. She wanted to face her fears and share her thoughts with everyone. She enjoys teaching other people about the sport but only found the confidence to do so recently.
Paige Spiranac has a big social media following. She is putting it to good use by helping CyberSmile, an anti-bullying group. She has shared her experience with bullying and low self-esteem to help the cause. Hopefully, this is going to prevent another child from becoming the victim of bullying.
Golf Digest Contract
Golf Digest has offered Paige Spiranac a contract. However, they were not particularly interested in her golf skills. It did not matter to them that she has yet to bring home an LPGA title. They were only concerned about her looks. Apparently, the website saw an increase in traffic thanks to her outfits.
She’s Been Proposed To Before
Even though she is now engaged to Steven, her fans are still holding onto hope. She gets messages and gifts from her fans on a daily basis. They are mostly men. Some of them even proposed to her!
She’s Friends With Tiger Woods
Even though she is not the best player out there just yet, she has trained with the biggest names in golf. Tiger Woods even taught her chipping tricks in the past. Take a look at this photo of them. Her caption said, “Today I met Tiger Woods and he gave me a chipping lesson. So basically, my life is complete.”
Don’t Expect A Wedding Anytime Soon
Paige has previously stated that it is not in her plans to tie the knot soon. In 2016, she got engaged to Steven. It has been four years since then, but they have not walked down the aisle yet. She does not post much about him either. They clearly prefer to keep their relationship on the down low.
An Athletic Family
The Spiranac family is an athletic clan, so no one was surprised to see that she made it big in sports. Her dad played football and won an NCAA title when he attended the University of Pittsburgh. Her mom was a professional ballerina. Meanwhile, her sister Lexie was on the sprint team at Stanford University!
She Faced Many Medical Issues
Paige had a bunch of medical issues when she was a young girl. Not only did she have a hair condition, but she also had allergies and asthma. This led to bullying and hindered the progress of her career.
Some Aren’t On Board
Even though there are plenty of people supporting her, she gets a lot of haters as well. She started to play golf just because she thought it was fun. However, people do not always take kindly to her outfits. Some of them claim that she is not following the traditions and rules of the sport.
A Role Model
Paige wants to be a role model to young women all over the world. Hopefully, her efforts will make them all feel welcome in a sport that is dominated by men. She is hoping that things will change in the future! This is a rather admirable goal, isn’t it?
She Was In Sports Illustrated
We are not shocked to hear that she has appeared in Sports Illustrated. In 2018, she made it to the cover of this magazine. It is interesting that she got to bring her equipment to the studio as well!
She’s Also A Writer
Paige is an amazing golfer and a great model. However, you might be surprised to hear that she is a writer as well. In December 2018, she started to do a monthly column for Golf Magazine. Cool!
At the moment, she is sponsored by the following brands: Mizzen + Main, 18Birdies, CyberSmile, and Philip Stein Watches. As previously mentioned, she has also been featured by Sports Illustrated and Golf Digest as well.
Aside from that, she also signed a deal with PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) in 2017. She is the face of the golf club brand in both social media and TV ads. Here are the four categories that she works on: Growing the Game, Inspiring Women, Healthy Living, and Promoting Anti-Bullying.
Golfweek recorded Paige Spiranac as she tried to break the golf-trick shot Guinness World Record. She was accompanied by her boyfriend Steve Tinoco and PGA golfer Tony Finau. They succeeded after beating the old record by one catch!
She Has A Podcast
Paige has started a podcast of her own as well. The first one came out on February 7, 2020. Playing-A-Round is the name, while the first episode is called “Teeing Off.” We admire her for trying things outside of her comfort zone!
She Has A Youtube Channel
Paige has a YouTube channel of her own as well. It is titled Paige Spiranac- golf, fitness, lifestyle. The videos range from golf tips to exercises to recipes. The most viewed one has 906,000 views. The channel has 105,000 monthly subscribers as well!
What’s Her Salary?
The truth is that she does not make a lot of money as a golfer. She made $2,000 once in a 2016 golf competition. Most of her salary comes from her sponsorship deals and social media revenue.
She recently took part in the Genesis Invitational. It took place at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles last February 17. We are sure that she felt excited to be there with the best golfers on the planet.
How Tall Is She?
It is not rare for athletes to be tall, but she is only average in height for one. However, she is quite tall for a woman. She stands at a height of 5’5” or 1.68 m. She has earned her slender physique thanks to her hard work and good genes.
Her Very Own Website
It is worth visiting her website: www.paigespiranac.com. What is it about? We will let her words speak for herself. On the website, it says that she is “a rising golf talent, media personality, and online influencer who’s on a mission to show how much fun golf can be while making a positive impact on the world.”
