Maria Quiban was born in the Philippines but moved with her whole family to Honolulu at age 9. She spent most of her childhood in Hawaii and then went on to the University of Hawaii to study journalism. Eventually she got a job at KHNL, Honolulu’s NBC affiliate. She moved from the island later to Los Angeles, where she joined the Orange Newschannel team in 1998. She started working at KTTV in Los Angeles two years later. Currently, she’s working as a weather anchor.

Chita must be an early bird! She happens to be on the air during the morning hours: from 4:30 AM to 9 AM. During this time of the day, we tend to be cranky but she is amazing at her job. In 2011 and 2012, she was voted as the Best Media Personality during her time at KRCR in Redding, California. The blonde beauty is from Knoxville, Tennessee, and went to Arizona State University and Mississippi State. She currently works as a meteorologist and delivers News This Morning’s weather report on KHOU 11 in Houston.
