When the principal filming of the film wrapped up, the producers decided that Olivia Newton-John needed her own big song. Thus the memorable, raw ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’ song was written and filmed in pick up shots. Newton-John would even go on to land an Academy Award nomination for that very performance.
