Chastity To Chaz
No doubt you remember that in 2008, Chastity revealed that she was transitioning into Chaz and now identifies as a male. His publicist said, “It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his coming out did.” Then in May 2010, the California court finally granted his request for a gender and name change.

Cher’s Response
While Cher is completely accepting of Chaz’s decision, she did admit that it affected her. Stating that it was actually “a strange change for a mother to go through”. Furthermore Cher admitted that she was afraid to see Chaz at first because she was terrified she wouldn’t recognize him – she still has his old answering machine greeting.
