Buddy Rogers (1939-1969, 1978-1992)
Buddy Rogers was the person who inspired Ric Flair in terms of cockiness, richness, and trash-talking. We could say that Ric wanted to imitate the “Nature Boy” persona and the signature move figure-four leg lock. In wrestling, only three grapplers earned the World Heavyweight Championship in both WWE and NWA, and among them is Buddy Rogers. He was recognized by the people with his off-the-mat strategy in a match, including the well-known body slam and piledriver.
‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper (1969-2011)
Roddy “Rowdy” Piper was also a wrestler with some attitude that people adored to detest. The wrestling superstar relished every hate he got. Rowdy also appeared in the headlines with Hulk Hogan at the first Wrestlemania in the year the ‘80s. The attitude and charisma he showed inside the ring was an inspiration to other wrestlers. Rowdy loved his occupation, and we could not think of the world of wrestling without him. However, in 2015, he passed away when he did not wake up from his slumber.
