Dido
You probably had no idea that Dido was born Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O’Malley Armstrong. The English singer made it big to release “No Angel,” her debut album, in 1999. It sold more than 21 million copies across the globe and raked in all sorts of awards. In 2003, she released a new album under the title “Life for Rent” and received more fame. It had a cover of “Life for Rent” and “White Flag.” Her albums have dominated the charts in the United Kingdom, and rightfully so.
Tracy Chapman
It is amazing to think just how talented Tracy Chapman is. She has multiple platinum records under her belt, but she is best known for hit songs such as “Crossroads,” “Fast Car,” and “Give Me One Reason.” When she released her self-titled album, it was nominated for six Grammy awards. She took home half of that and released six more studio albums. “New Beginning” is now multiplatinum and fetched her yet another Grammy.
