More Medals
One of the most incredible scenes in the film was when Forrest Gump is given the Medal of Honor from President Lyndon Johnson. While it looks like he is putting the medal around his neck, this is actually real footage from the ceremony where Sammy L. Davis was awarded the Medal of Honor in November 1968. Wow, now that’s some good CGI work!
It Wasn’t Kurt Russell
Rumors were surfacing that Kurt Russell was the voice of Elvis Presley when young Forrest shows his dances moves to the musician in his home. This was up to interpretation until Peter Dobson finally admitted to being the voice.
