Sally Field’s Real Age
Another famous actress who contributed to the film’s success was Saly Field. Her role was technically set to be old enough to be Forrest’s mother when in reality she is just 10 years older. They had to make it look like she was older and they did an excellent job. Interestingly, Sally’s script was made up of slogans while help makes the film so striking in our memory.
Not What It Seems
You may have thought that the Vietnam War setting was real, but nowadays with the movie technology that we have, anything is possible. The film was shot in Savannah, Georgia, and South Carolina. The addition of the Vietnam War helped strengthen Forest’s character, especially as the opposite of Jenny Curran’s free-living, hippie loving lifestyle. The war also strengthens the plot and helps create more drama and tragedy.
