Magic In Black And White
During the first season of the show, the team decided to shoot it in black and white. This was because the “magic” used for the smoke was difficult to do in color. Luckily, they eventually found a way around it and shot the next season in color. It meant that it was the last TV show to air an episode in black and white! It was said that the network did not want to pay $400 more per episode for the upgrade as well.
The City Of Cocoa Beach
Barbara Eden returned to deliver a speech at the Kennedy Space Center 27 years after the final episode was aired. In 1996, Cocoa Beach Mayor Joe Morgan declared “Jeannie Day” and paid tribute to the show with an I Dream of Jeannie Lane street sign. She also joined a space shuttle tour during the trip. When she spoke to Senior Life, she said, “They allowed me to put on the boots and the coveralls and go right into the capsule itself, and that was awe-inspiring, just wonderful.”
