John Kennedy And Lyndon Johnson
On April 10, 1961, President John Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon Johnson participated in the Griffith Stadium Opening Day. The stadium was located in Washington D.C. and was known as the home to the expansion Senators. It was a rare occurrence that the president and the vice president were together.
Jacques Plante
On December 18, 1957, during a game between the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, Montreal Canadiens goalie Jacques Plante watched his opponents move without a mask. Plante would be the first goalie in the NHL to use a goaltender mask regularly, beginning in the 1959-60 season.
