Asking Him For Money
To Kristopher’s surprise, he came to find Patricia’s two quotes. One was for $4,000, which was for the fence that needed to be replaced. Kristopher did not have that kind of cash to lay out. In actual fact, after the fireworks incident, he was pretty low in cash. He decided to show in dad the quotes that he was recently given. After seeing that it was written in Microsoft Word and had no company name or logo, the old man told Kristopher, “Son, don’t you give that con artist a single dime.”
Taking Matters Into His Own Hand
In addition to all the money that his neighbor was now requesting, she also had a note to the bottom of the quote, “I will also be having you pay my water bill for three months because the new yard will need lots of water.” Kristopher was angry after reading her note, he said to his dad, “Now the fence this woman had before was raggedy and falling apart. Her yard? Dead grass, weeds everywhere, never mowed it. Now looking at this paper, she wants a mahogany fence and a brand new back yard with flowers and trimmed hedges? I said, ‘I need to get an estimate myself. This doesn’t feel right…’”
