In the original Star Wars trilogy, Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, was a cultural figure who influenced generations of filmmakers. Mark’s Star Wars fame didn’t always bode well for his career prospects. One producer stated emphatically, “I don’t want Luke Skywalker in my video.” Mark’s performance was too legendary for him to be quickly cast in other films, and he went on to do voiceover work for the rest of his career. He played the Joker, Batman’s evil nemesis, in a number of cartoon adaptations of the story over the last few decades.
