Honorable Mention: Maryland – 31.3% Obesity Rate
Maryland was well-known for the “all you can eat” promotion. It was also the reason why people were getting fat. We knew that crab was challenging to eat, but the state could not control the problem. According to the Department of Health, 45% of the people living in Marylander had blood pressure, 47% had high cholesterol, and 23% had diabetes.
Honorable Mention: Illinois – 31.1% Obesity Rate
Illinois was known for the horseshoe sandwich and was considered an unofficial state meal. It was created in Springfield, Illinois. We only need a thick slice of bread, a piece of the roast beef or burger patty, a lot of hash browns or french fries, and filled it with sausage gravy. We could also imagine what food was like if we were in the state.
